CLC Chongqing Event 2012

The reason for having a conference in Chongqing, China is because it has become a major manufacturing hub, an automotive and motorcycle hub, and a new Gateway to Europe (With a new train service from Chongqing to Europe with an expected transit time of only 12 days). Chongqing is also China’s largest city with a population of some 32 million people, and therefore is a consumer hub as well.

Some of the companies with operations in Chongqing are: Microsoft, Coca Cola, Mazda, Ford, BP, Lafarge, Honeywell, Fiat, Volvo, Ericsson, Honda, Continental, Denso, Wal Mart, Johnson Control, Visteon, Apple, Pepsi, BASF, Danone, NTT Group.

Chongqing has huge export of motor cycle engines and spare parts to South America and Africa. Therefore we hope that a good number of South American and Africa members will attend. As Chongqing is the world’s major automotive hub, we would expect freight forwarders handing automotive clients would be interested in attending. Already many CLC members have indicated they are interested in coming to Chongqing.
